My Name is Angela Ashworth. I am a New Orleans native born and raised in New Orleans and it's neighboring communities.
I have been Painting Abstract Art Work in acrylic on canvas since 1986. I still remember the freedom I felt in my 1st painting
class back then. Through all of the transitions to where my art is today, I feel free, expressive, and I still feel the most
joyous and enlightening emotions when I paint then I could have ever hoped for.
I am a self-taught abstract painter
who I specializes in abstract art because it allows more artistic freedom and creativity. The process of painting is very
powerful form of self-expression which nourishes my very soul.
I have been influenced by almost everything around
me from things I see to the way I feel at different moments in time. My style has evolved to a more abstract style, incorporating
surreal imagery, fragmented geometric forms, and a vivid array of colours.

A Few thoughts on art and life.
I personally feel inspired by others art work of all forms paintings, photographs, drawings, music....... really anything
smart and creative. Especially if it makes me laugh or smile. I can't say tears are all bad either. Experimentation of our
ideas and dreams could go either way, but when the fruit of our labors finally ripens, the taste is always sweet indeed. If
ya work hard and play hard you will succeed even in the face of adversity. Baby steps are great because you can savor the
moment and reflect later on. But sometimes you just have to reach out and just go for it!
